I was disappointed with this book. You never really got the chance to develop any feeling for any of the women on the trip, so you aren't too worried if they live or die on their adventure. Oddly enough the couple of the male characters are more interesting, the women...who are supposed to be why we are reading the book....seem very shallow and uninteresting. There was only really exciting part where you get caught up in what is about to happen.

Its a real pity, because I thought this was going to be the perfect summer read and it just left me with a "so what" feeling about the main characters.

I really liked this book. It started out really slow but then it became very exciting very fast. A great summer read.

This was a great book about the relationships between the women (with friends and with the daughter, who also has her own unique relationship with each of her mother's friends which adds to the story) and about the strengths and weaknesses in the relationships. I was afraid it was going to be a 'hokey' story about being lost at sea and dealing with unrealistic pirates. Instead, I thought it was realistic and the characters and the story have stayed with me long after reading the book. And it wasn't hokey at all... very good read!

Tracey, Olivia, Holly and Janis, are four best friends from high school. Three of them, along with Tracey's college age daughter, set sail on a private sailboat for a reunion cruise. What follows will have you reading this book well into the night because, like me, you won't be able to put it down.

It wasn't an awful book. I was enjoying it until more than halfway through when it because so predictable and drama queen like.

If you don't want to think too hard and want something similar to what I'd call a beach read, this give it a try.

This is a wonderful story about friendships between women. The story involves a group of high school friends reuniting for a boat trip after one of the friend's husband passes away. This friend has lived away from all the others in Italy for years and she returns to her hometown to take her friends on a boat trip. It wouldn't be a story if everything goes as planned. You will laugh, you will cry and you will not be able to put this book down.

Get it on your wish list now, it is a fabulous must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like several other people have mentioned in previous reviews, this book was a little bit slow in the beginning. Once you hit about the middle of the book, however, it was nearly impossible to put down. Survival is the theme of this book...physical survival, survival of the human spirit, and survival of relationships. While parts of the plot are a little over the top, the book has a satisfying, if not bittersweet, conclusion.

I thought this book was very thought provoking.
The storyline was a bit absurd but if you could get past that it was a very good book overall.

Although I love all Jaquelyn Mitchard's other books, I'm finding this one slow to start, but once you get into it, it's fabulous writing as always!

The book is about 3 women from high school want to go on a cruise which it didn't go well go. they got stranded in sea.

The book starred of very slowly. you have to stick with it. The action of the book when they got stranded. The character was kind of confusing trying to figure out who is who. Overall, a light summer read.

I was never able to get into this book. I found it dry and mostly boring.
