Good book involving women's arts, black magic, and superstition. It wasn't as scary as I first thought it would be, but there were a few creepy moments. It was a good, interesting story that I'd recommend. I'll be looking for more from this author.

Our graduate student heroine, Rachel, has been 'possessed' by a nineteenth century witch. Where did she come from...well, all the strange goings on came after someone dropped off those old quilts at the clothing shop where Rachel works...something sinister begins to unfold.
The idea of this book is very clever and appeals to those of us that like paranorml mystery or romance as well as sewing. It is a fun read and I learned a lot about quilting and witchcraft at the same time!

This was a good book to read. I couldn't put it down. A nice twist from the usual mystery/witchy novel. Great weekend read, ending slightly anti-clamatic (spelling?) but plausable. Worth the read.

This book nearly bored me to death! It sounded so good, so I kept plugging away, waiting for the "good part" to happen. It never did. The ending was anti-climactic and the characters were dull. It did help me fall asleep at night, so it wasn't entirely useless.
This was such a muddled mess of a book. Like others, I kept waiting for it to "get good" but it never did. An overload of under-developed characters and a meandering plot line that basically led nowhere. My first by this author and I won't rush to read another by her.
I loved this book, I couldn't put it down till I was finished, stayed up till 3 am.
A tale about Civil War quilts-three stolen or discarded? And are they influencing the present? Interesting premise but a little to much on the supernatural side for me.
A delightful book to read, Quilters love reading it.
A good read for anyone who does needlework.
I really enjoyed this book.
Excellent mystery, it had me in suspense all the way through.
Reall enjoyed this wonderful book about quilting, women's magic and superstition.
Very good book, could not put it down...
I have always loved Barbara Micheals. This book was good, plenty of supernatural suspense.
Rachel fell in love with an old bridal quilt, but slowly she felt an overpowering sense of evil coming from it.
A great book by Barbara Michaels with supernatural powers in it.

After becoming intrigued with an antique bridal quilt, a woman finds herself influenced by it, even as she begins to sense that the enormous power the quilt carries is evil and it is bringing harm to her loved ones.
very good book to read, certainly not boring
Good B. Michaels story.
A Great read.
When an antique bridal quilt appears under mysterious circumstances at the vintage clothing shop where Rachel Grant works, she is fascinated. She has never been able to resist handmade textiles from the past, for she believes that through the ages, women wove protective magic into their fabrics in order to mark the important events of their lives: birth, marriage, and death.
But there is more than good in the quilt's magic power. Day by day Rachel sees and feels the power growing, as she senses the quilt influencing her thoughts and actions. Much as Rachel's logical mind longs to deny the supernatural, the aura of evil coming from the quilt is terrifyingly real, and it seems to carry a sinister legacy into the lives of the people Rachel loves.
