Just as wonderful as The Madness of Ian Mackenzie, and maybe even a bit more. In fact, Malcolm rivals Ian as my most favorite hero. Even though he's the youngest, I loved that he is the one to carry on the ducal title. If you harbor fantasies of being the focus of a man's devotion and loyalty, Malcolm is the hero for you.

At first I didn't know if I'd like reading about the Mackenzies during this very tragic era for Scotland(Bonnie Prince Charlie, Culloden) but it was a great book. Malcolm and Mary make a great hero and heroine. It had one of my favorite tropes, when the hero knows almost instantly that the heroine is the woman for him, and lets nothing stand in his way. Mary was quite intrepid too(loved the scene where he teaches her how to set slow fuses!)
This book was a page-turner, with lots of action, daring escapes, separations and reunions. It kept me up late at night finishing it.

Hail to Jennifer Ashley. Another great book and addition to the MacKenzie series. I loved the first four books in the series enough to have read each book several times over and over again. This book was fantastic, but a little too long. With so much going on this book was non-stop action, intrigue, fighting and trickery with a side story of love in the midst of all the chaos.

Who wouldn't love reading a story about the youngest man in a large family who falls in love with an untouchable lady? Who wouldn't love a story about a woman who defies rules and decorum to be with the man she loves. Who wouldn't love to read about a man who fights alongside his brothers and misses death several times over? Trust me when I say that this book has it all. I only wish there was more with regards to the love story and less with the war.

Another great book to add to my Jennifer Ashely collection......
