This book was listed in our church's book club selection and I had read the book Three Cups of Tea(his first book) years ago and enjoyed it. This was basically a continuation of his quest to build schools and promote literacy for girls in the countries of Afghanistan and Pakistan amid political and cultural trials and tribulations. I liked the underlying concept that by learning other people's cultures and their primary needs the US can become more effective humanitarians and promote peace.I wish the audiobook reader had been a male voice; it was distracting to me that the author's 1st person account was voiced by a female with an accent.
