a novel of an evil serial killer. good thriller
An interesting book. Based in Scotland, you may need to look up some of the words used. The uncommon terminology makes it rather cumbersome to read at times.
Boris Starling is a very descriptive author- you feel like you are right there, and he has tricks up his sleeve that keep you guessing the whole way through
The first victim was discovered in a public park. Her body stabbed repeatedly, her hands and feet removed with clean surgical precision. ...the mind of a serial killer is unleashed.
Great book about the hunt for a serial killer. The first victim was found in a public park. Her body stabbed repeatedly, her hands & feet removed with clean surgical precision. Tied to her chest, a coiled black snake....lots of twists & turns.
An very strong procedural/thriller with a number of divergent plot points that come together nicely, if not terribly convincingly. The first few pages are one of the most gripping kick offs for any book I've read. Just wish the ending had been a little stronger. Also, although not toted as a sequel to Starling's "Messiah," this book clearly follows the first and gives away a few of "Messiah"s more important plot twists.
There are actually two plots going on in this book and I'm still not sure how they manage to correspond to each other, still, this book was very good as each plot in and of itself was absorbing (speaking more would be a spoiler). Boris Starling is able to give the sense of gruesome horror without the disturbing specifics. This was my second Starling novel and I look forward to reading more.
