An excellent book about a very bad hurricane, and the bumbling of government officials that lead to the deaths of over 250 veterans of WW1. People don't ever seem to learn that Mother Nature does as she pleases, and does not take into account what humans want or need to happen.

The book started out slow but soon became hard to put down. The tragedy could have easily been avoided for the veterans. The author does an excellent job of detailing the events that occured. The stories he told about the people involved were exciting and tragic. The history channel got me intersted in the story, and Mr.Drye made it one we will never forget.
