I have loved Ferdinand, the flower admiring Bull, for 5 decades. Who wants to fight in the bull-ring anyway - it's much nicer sitting quietly under a cork tree and just sniffing the flowers.

Review from 9yo - I like the book a lot. It has very detailed pictures. It is a classic story about a gentle bull in Spain.

Ferdinand didn't want to fight he just wanted to sit just quietly and smell the flowers. And no matter how many matadors, and picadors, and toreadors tried to make him fight, he wouldn't.

A delight. A 6 star book. I loved it when I was a little girl and saw Disney's cartoon (which I still watch from time to time). I love it now when I'm an old lady. I wish I could find Ferdinand's cork tree and sit there and smell the flowers.

Children's classic, with fabulous pen and ink drawings. One of my favorite children's picture books. Should be in every home.

This book was nostalgic for me since I remember Captain Kangaroo reading it on his program periodically. I'm so glad it has been kept alive and brought to another generation. It is simple and brings us an unexpected behavior and lets us know that's okay.
