This book is written for the elementary child. It tells of Ancient History in a storybook style that is easy and fun for young children. The only criticism I have is that there are very few pictures to keep young children interested in the subjects, and those that are there are black & white.

We used this for our 1st grade history text, as per the Well-Trained Mind homeschooling curriculum. Even we grown-ups got a lot out of it. I recommend getting the accompanying Activity Book as well.

This book was useful even for my high schooler in her world civ class.
