Crap! That's what this is. I'm starting to lose faith in Emma Holly. I read the 'Midnight' series and thought, "what a great author." So I either bought or traded for several other books by her and after a string of bad or nonexistent plots, I'm about ready to give up on her.

As with 'All You Can Eat', 'Demon's Daughter', and 'Personal Assets', the plot to 'Strange Attractions' is loose at best, and confusing as heck at worst. Quantum leaps, atomic particles...ugh! The oddball scientist for some reason reminded me of the albino monk from the DaVinci Code, coulda been the shaved body hair, certainly not one to put me in a romantic mood.

And on top of it all, I certainly wasn't expecting all of the gay male love scenes contained in this book. Now I'm certainly no prude as far as sex goes. I expected a steamy, unconventional romance. A little kink is Emma Holly's style, but this was over the top.

And the heroine, boy was she a piece of work. I felt like I was on a see-saw watching her go back and forth between the mad scientist and his partner. I mean jeez, how long does it take to figure out that these two bisexual men are in love with EACH OTHER, but have commitment issues with anyone else.

If I hadn't spent $10 on this book, I can honestly say that I probably wouldn't have finished it, but I was determined to get my money's worth even if it did gross me out a bit.

This was not a good read for me. Too much of a homosexual element because of the attraction of the two male characters in the book. Didn't like the female character either.

The sex in this book was hot, hot, hot, but I am not into the submission and/or control scene. If you enjoy that type of read and are not put off by M/M sex, this book is for you.

I love Ms. Holly & couldn't remember if I'd read this one or not. Turns out I did. This book is Hot! and very explicit so if you have a faint heart and don't have an open mind...then this book is not for you.

Very strange. I wouldn't consider it erotica, more scientific experimentation concerning sexuality and keeping passions in check without allowing spontaneity. Couldn't get through the entire book. I hope someone else will find it more entertaining than I did!

...well sexy quantum physicists with a need to control are hot anyway.
The characters are developed and there is some simbilance of a plot there.
Lots of hot boy on boy lovin'. If that doesn't bother you then you'll probably enjoy the book as long as you can get past the lengthy discussions on quantum physics. Bill Nye the Science Guy was my crush all through elementry school and even I had to pull a glance over on those. I kept thinking 'how unnecessary'. The "teacher" aspect could have been worked in, in a much more sexually stimulating way. This was my first Emma Holly read and I think I'll try her again, the girl can sure write a sex scene.

I like it that Emma Holly is forever pushing the envelop and coming up new and unconventional stuff. The content of this book is extremely explicit sexually and contains man-on-man actions. So if this type of things offend you, please do not request.

The sex is hot but the book leaves me cold. Not enough of a connection between the characters, and there are plenty of them. Not sure I'll even finish it.

A different type of story for Emma Holly.

This is one strange story. It's a mix of sci-fi and erotica. The basis of the story is completely preposterous as most stories in this genre are. I haven't read a book before about of quantum physics and sex. You may wonder how the two are related, but you'll have to read the story to find out. The love scenes here aren't that different from what I've read in other books BUT, and this is a big but, there's m/m/f and m/m. The heroine is as open-minded as they come so she's good with any type of combination. Her character was pretty flat and boring. It's an ok menage story if you like m/m/f stories, but there isn't much of an emotional connection between the three characters.

I loved the dynamics between the three main characters - B.G., Eric and Charity. Be warned there are plenty of erotic scenes m/f/m, m/m, and f/f. I almost became numb to the eroticism because the sex never stopped. It took until the end to really have emotions involved, which imo is what makes sex erotic. Did find the "experiment" fascinating though. If you are looking for sex in every way imaginable...order this book.

This has to be the most electric book I've read. Not only in terms of the sex scenes, but also the scientific detail in it. I'm at a loss for words other than to say wow! And that doesn't do it justice. Emma Holly outdid herself on many levels.

**side note ** If you don't like m/m scenes or menage you won't like this book.

A hot story with lots of very steamy love scenes. I was a little put off by all the talk of the metaphysical science talk. Wasn't ineresting and dind't seem to advance the story. More like the author just found the subject interesting and decided to include it in the plot. Also a complaint I have with a lot of menage-type fiction, there is a primary couple and then this third person who gets both short shrift in the plot but also in the development of a relationship. I felt sorry for the scientist in the end.

Whew, this was one steamy book. It is a love story, of sorts, between two pretty men and one soon-to-be-exhausted woman. In Holly's hands, this different love triangle works. If you're looking for something edgy and different from the same-old stale romance you can't go wrong with this book.

Blurbage from Amazon.com:

She must travel to the estate of reclusive physicist B.G. But Charity is more than up to the challenge-especially when Eric Berne, her sexy "keeper," lends a hand.

Behind the locked doors of Grantham's isolated mansion, the games begin. So does the education of Charity Wills-who's about to discover that the possibilities for sensual indulgence are beyond anything her wildest dreams ever allowed...

I prefer a little more plot and romance than this one has. Prefer other books of hers.
