A Southern house-cleaning service that gets into situations of adventure featuring cleaning whiz Callahan Garrity,
ex-cop, sometimes P.I., is a romp that will leave you laughing, possibly crying. But, be forewarned, this does start out a
little slow, but like she always does, Kathy Hogan Trocheck will explain, in the end, why she put us through the boring
stuff in the beginning. 'Cause it just might help Callahan save her life.
The storyline revolves around the inhabitants of the down and out area of Atlanta near where Callaghan and her mother live.
The author depicts the struggle and horror of the lives of these people in a poignant sub-plot. The major plot involves
a twenty year old murder and its modern-day consequences. This is something that of course has been done before but
this author carries it off with her usual high skill and humour.
This series may be considered as cozies, but they have a distinct edge. The characters are fun, but also well developed,
and the plots are decent. The characters and their personalities are complex. The books improve as they go along.
Kathy Hogan Trocheck writes her other books as Mary Kay Andrews.

I love the Callahan Garrity character! Humor, mystery and a little romance -- what more could you ask?!
Yet another great tale of the adventures of Callahan and her"associates" as we'll as her colorful character of a mother! I love people stories and by the end of Mary Kay's books I feel like I know these characters as real people. I live in the south and so much of what she says is just so true. I look forward every nite to crawling into bed with my iPad and enjoying the next pages of the adventure! Always hate to see it end...but then there is another story! The author Kathy Hogan has a great aptitude for characters. Mrs Callahan is a smart cookie. She runs a housecleaning service with a spotless reputation, and packs a mean pistol as well. This gal is sharp with integrity. She runs a killer chasing from Atlanta to a rustic cabin in the boonies. I have lived in Georgia and I have seen rustic cabins in the boonies..
Great as usual.
Atlanta cleaning service owner Calahan Garrity is at it again - with the help of her unusual cleaning staff! As usual, there are some plot twists that surprise!
The Callahan Garrity mysteries always are a bright spot in my reading repertoire. I enjoyed the story especially the characters. The writing is fun, page turning and, for me, the story moves so briskly that I am finished before I want to be.
Love this series. Callahan Garrity is a stuborn and relentless investigator. A tornado, and a couple of murders, and a microbrewery close to home are the focus
this time around. Good story.
