He is a madman known as the Scarecros. For eight years he has languished in prison, convicted of a vicious attack that left a rookie policewoman near death--and unable to remember her past. When DNA evidence surfaces that frees him, Teresa Harnett must face the possibility that her flawed memory put the wrong man behind bars. But then the phone calls begin--and the crackly, threatening voice of the Scarecrow reawakens her terror. Only Teresa's onetime nemesis, psychologist Jim Christensen, can pull the truth from her shattered mind--before the man who left her for dead can finish the job.

A female police officer is viciously attacked in her own home. The attack leaves her with little memory of her past, but her police officer husband is there to fill in the blanks for her.

The suspect is found guilty and has been in prison for the past eight years. His attorney, Brenna, doesn't give up. She finds DNA evidence that proves him innocent and he is released. Teresa, the police officer, begins getting phone calls that makes her start reliving the past. He says things to her that only her attacker could know. Soon Brenna starts getting phone calls and then is wounded by someone outside her house. Why would her client want her dead?

Very good book. You don't want to put it down!
