Feehan's latest book centers on Ghostwalkers and lovers Mack and Jaimie. A key plot point is that Jaimie left Mack 2 years earlier when he refused to fully believe her suspicions about Whitney, the program's founder and also when Mack was unable to confirm his love for her. (Can't live without her, but also can't say he loves her or commit to a future.)
The separation was devastation for both of them and the book seems to spend more than half its plot revisiting their angst over and over again, making it a sometimes boring read.
It's not a horrible book, nor a great one. The main characters were "okay" but not anyone I'm dying to hear more about. The spy-like intrigue is not as much as other Ghostwalker books, so there are more limited chances to see their special abilities in action. I felt like 60% of the book involved them skulking around Jaimie's warehouse/home and reviewing the same emotionally-riddled topics repeatedly.
For the most part, the book has all new characters with only a few brief mentions of other Ghostwalker characters. That's a shame, because the interactions from previous characters are often interesting.
It's an average, "okay", middling book - which is a shame, because I was really looking forward to a dynamic new story.

I find Christine Feehan's books to be great entertainment. This one, however, should have been a short story or a novella at best. A well-worn plot with filler. (Sorry, Chris.)

I really enjoy this series but was disappointed that it had few references to previous storylines. I always liked the action and intrigue of this series which was missing through most of this book. I agree with other reviews and won't repeat the prolonged references to the break up of Jaimie & Mack 2 yrs. previously. The story took place at Jaimie's home/warehouse for almost 300 pages and all the action (very satifying) seemed to be in last 100 pages. And we did learn why and who wanted the Ghostwalkers eliminated.
There were several intrigueing new characters particularly Paul & Joe and some very different psychic talents that were introduced. Only skimmed over the search for Dr. Whitney and passing references to other Ghostwalkers and the women from Whitney's lab. But we did find out more about Violet.
Overall I was satified at the end but I confess to skimming through parts of this book. And it is going on my keeper shelf. It looks like the storyline is going in a new direction and we will hear more about other Ghostwalker Units.

I disagree with many who have posted about this book. I have felt that the last few books in this series were boring and all singing the same tune so to speak. This book however, was refreshingly different and I didn't feel like it was the same old thing again. There is plenty of action, interesting new characters, and you learn a lot about those who are plotting against the ghost walkers. I can't wait until the next book in this series comes out! I am excited to see how Christine ties this team in with the characters from previous books because I am sure she will. Great book!
good continuation of the story line
I loved this entire series, have read it twice. at times its a bit predictable but love it anyway. love the angst, the discovery, the desire and how the whole team is dedicated to each other. Jamie and MacK have a great story
the 'game " series is very accurate on military SOP. Very good series
Another entertaining book from one of my favorite writers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, just like all the others. Feehan does a good job of developing the characters, plot and the bad guys. She keeps you guessing till the end and always throws in a little extra unexpected bit at the end. She is one of my favorite authors and can always be relied upon to provide a great read. Warning: A bit too heavy on the erotica for young readers.
Another good one from feehan.worth the read.
A good read but I didn't find it quite as page turningly intense as earlier books in this series. Maybe because it's a new team [essentially] to the readers and you don't know them very well.
It's an interesting concept - this team was [mostly] street kids who were mutually telepathic [and sometimes more] who found each other and bonded together into their own 'family' - before Whitney ever started messing with them.
The plot is more relationship [second chance lovers] than action driven. We spend a lot of time on the h/h's flashbacks and tortured emotions. I did find the rest of the team [and Joe, a member of another team] great so have hopes for future books for them.

Feehan does it again. Suspense and drama keep you turning pages. The characters and action keep you on the edge of your seat.
For Mack McKinley and his team of GhostWalker killing machines, urban warfare is an art form. But despite a hardwon knowledge of the San Francisco streets, Mack knows from experience that too many things can still go wrong. Danger is just another part of the game--and he's come face-to-face with a woman who can play just as tough.
She's Jaimie, a woman with a sapphire stare so potent it can destroy a man. Years ago she and Mack had a conection---volatile, erotic, and electric. Then she vanished. Now she's walked back into Mack's life as a spy with too many secrets for her own good. Against all odds, she's hooking up with Mack one more time to take on an enemy that could destroy them both or bring them together again in on hot, no-holds-barred adrenalin rush.
#1 New York Times bestselling author Christine Feehan goes beyond the boundaries of paranormal romance as two lovers take to the streets to play the most dangerous game of all.
