Thomas Picketty's Capital is engrossing reading. And, after the first two chapters, I had only found one word I had to look up in a dictionary. Plus, the "formulae" he introduces are not beyond the mathematical grasp of an ordinary 'lay' reader such as myself. A few more chapters later, I have found myself appreciating the way the writer is concerned with far more than the current fiscal quarter, or 'the next fiscal quarter'.
