This book was a good read. It was somewhat disturbing in some parts, but all in all a great read. I would recommend this book to those who like hardcore horror. Don't read it if you're squeamish!
Though an interesting premise (can someone who survives a serial killer be contaminated and become a serial killer himself, as if though afflicted with a virulent need for violence that he is unable to control?) and delivered at machine gun speed, this novel just fails to engender anything in me other than deep in your gut revulsion. Wrath James White has undeniable talent. He delivers the goods in a way that makes certain that you're interest never lags but as the novel is written in the first person that can also become very tiresome, as the reader doesn't get a break from the onslaught germinating in that messed up psyche. This sub-genre of horror (I've heard some refer to it as torture porn) just does little to enthrall.
