This is the first book I've read by Cathy Lamb and must say I was not disappointed. SUCH A PRETTY FACE is a powerful story of Stevie Barrett's search for her self after an extremely traumatic childhood and a heart attack caused by obesity at the age of 32.

I loved everything Cathy Lamb has written, but I read through this one with mixed feelings. It's a wonderful story of a woman who overcomes a tragic childhood, after being raised by her grandparents who also care for her mother, who is schizophrenic. Yet in between the sad and sometimes disturbing behavior of her mother, there are enough parts of the story that have you smiling (And even cheering).

Absolutely could not put this one down! Grieved, cheered, unbearable tension at time. Highly encourage to get this one.

I loved this book! I did have a hard time getting into it but after a few chapters I found the rhythm of the story and was able to enjoy the unusual characters Lamb created. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary women's fiction.

This is one of the best books I've read in a very long time; I literally stayed up all night to finish it. I laughed as much as I cried, as it was as humorous as it was tragic. The story, told partially in flashbacks, is a woman's struggle to overcome her past enough to be present in her future. You will find yourself sucked into this novel immediately and unable to put it down (even if dawn is creeping in your windows!). The characters are brilliant, and the writing is fantastic!

This is my first Cathy Lamb book, and now I looking for more! DO NOT hesitate to find/swap/buy/order/download a copy of this book!

We read this book for our Book Club....I thought that the author went a little overboard on the "dysfunctional family" theme.

I hated this book.I could have done without hearing about blow up dolls and sex erotica. This was also a sob story of a woman who blamed her fat for everything that happened to her.The story also bashes men.I would say skip this book and read something else.

Cathy Lamb has quickly become one of my favorite authors. Such a Pretty Face was such a great read. Cathy Lamb delves into the world of schizophrenia and the destruction it leaves in its wake. I think most women can relate to the main character, Stevie, on some level. You are cheering for Stevie and her transformation by the end of this book. Don't forget the Kleenex!
