I did not want to like this book. I bought it at a buck-a-bag booksale and left it sitting on my shelf for months. I picked it up out of boredom, and then (sigh),I couldn't put it down. I thought about it while I was at work, I read a page or two at stoplights, and I found myself turning off the American Idol finale just so I could finish the book. This story is different from what I have been reading lately--sweet and memorable. It reminded me of the best of Dorothy Garlock, with that little underlying edge that only Kleypas could write. I found myself caring about Liberty, Hardy, Gage, Churchill, and Carrington more than I have cared about other characters since I read my first Kathleen Woodiwiss book. 4 Stars!!
