As always, a fun and entertaining mystery; however, the romantic aspects of these books is getting old. Enough of the waffling and obstacling throwing. It has gotten old. I will give it one more but if nothing changes, may have to give them up.

Another great "cupcake" mystery of McKinlays...her books are always entertaining plus yummy recipes. In this book, relationship issues abound: from Mel and her mother, Mel and which boyfriend do I choose, Angie and the one she loves, etc, etc. All of them are working with a young girl who goes from gothic to beauty queen style to participate in a beauty pageant for the sake of winning a scholarship......and of course there is the dead body and murder to subsequently investigate. Quick read, easy to follow, and the book leaves you in suspense begging for the next book of the series!
I've really enjoyed this cupcake bakery series. It's a cozy and a fun read I've come to love all the characters as they really care for each other and have each others backs. It's always fun to see the predicaments that Melanie and her friends can get in to.
