The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We can Prosper Together by Heather McGhee lays out the history in ten chapters, each focusing on a different economic or societal area. Each chapter presents data and individual stories that make the data personal and perhaps more understandable and relatable. I walk away educated and with the certainty that I have a lot more still to learn.
