Excellent read. All three stories were good. Worth a credit.

I was disappointed in the first two stories. They both dealt with a wanna-be female author writing her first book. (How many times have we heard that plot before?) In Ms. Miller's story, it also centers are a violent argument/great sex during a powerful thunderstorm. (This is a redundant theme, too.) I felt the best story was the third and final story. It was about shape shifters (a town marshall/jungle cat and a witch fall hard & fast for each other) and was sexy, cute and creative. It was also over 150 pages long, so you got to know the very interesting characters well, too.

I got this for the Shelly Laurenston story, but I enjoyed all three stories.

My Kind of Town by Shelly Laurenston is set in the same universe as her Pride series, though is otherwise unrelated as far as I can tell. This story is followed up by a story in the anthology Belong to the Night, about Emma's friend Jamie.

I really liked this anthology and I usually rate them kind of low. It's your typical cheesy but sweet kind of romance with a getaway theme. It won't change your life but it's nice fluffy reading.

I would have sworn I read Linda Lael Miller's "One Last Weekend" before and if not, I've read one very similar to dog included. The story is about Joanna and Teague who wants to give one last try at their marriage before divorce. What I apprecaite about the story is the dialogue. It can be frustrating but old couples do make a lot of assumptions and accusations when they talk. So not only did they have to rekindle their sex life but they had to learn to listen and talk to each other again.

I have a love / hate relationship with anthology. One of the things I love about it are discovering new authors. I've always wanted to try Jennifer Apodaca but never got around to it. So now I have an extra incentive to find her books. It's not exactly rocket science who Lexie's stalker was but the story was fun. Nick is such a Neandethral and an all around idiot around Lexie. You can't help but giggle. But the main idea is that Lexie needs to grow as a person and believe that Nick really has her back.

I, of course, bought this book for Shelly Laurenston's "My Kind of Town." If you have never read her, it's almost like this story doesn't fit with the rest of the book. It's not about a vacation place although they are near a beach and it is paranormal based (part of her shifter series). But Laurenston as usual is laugh out loud funny. This story isn't as crass as her others but still has lots of silly enthics. Well worth the read. After reading this if you would like the story that follows, it is in "Belong to the Night" starring Tully and Jamie.

Great anthology.

Ugh! One of the worst anthologies I've ever read. Cheesy, corny, cliched, & awful, & since I can't find anything else nice to say, I'll stop there.
