It never ceases to amaze me how Patterson can go from writing about homocidal psychopaths and then write a beautiful love story ... he really is a wonderfully talented writer. This story is definitely a totally new plot ... one I'm not sure has ever been written about before, and quite ingenius and yet if you stop and think about it ... a wee bit disturbing as well. But you won't be sorry that you read it (I read it in one day) ... Jane and Michael's story will win your heart. It is like all of his other books ... A+!

Couldn't finish it - this was my second attempt at a James Patterson novel (after "Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas"), so maybe his style just isn't for me. After 100 pages, the tone was just too cheesy and the plot too contrived for me to go on.

The story is told from both the perspective of Jane Margaux, the little girl (later turned woman) befriended by an imaginary friend and the imaginary friend himself, named Michael. As a writing style it does help to tell this particular story but although we have both sides to the story it made me feel a little like we didn't get in depth enough.
For this book you do need to leave your sense of realism at the door, and typically I am fine with that but when I finished this book I thought "Well, that was sweet." and that was it. But I got the sense that maybe the writers were trying to make it a little more than that and it didn't quite hit that particular mark. I guess to me it seemed a little rushed, even though the book was 320 pages.
That said, I would recommend it for a very quick light read. It was entertaining. If you are looking for a book with a little more depth to it I would skip it and recommend "The Time Traveler's Wife" by Audrey Niffenegger instead.

Perhaps I am too old for this book, I felt like I was being talked down to throughout the novel. Is it targeted toward the junior high audience and I missed that information somewhere? Perhaps I did.

Absolutely amazing! James Patterson never fails and this book proves that he can write anything. Gabrielle Charbonnet I was not familiar with but this book makes me want to look for other titles. Cannot say enough about this story. I definitely give it 5 stars!!

Get back the time I wasted reading this book? The premise had me very excited. The end result, not so much. I felt EXACTLY like I was reading a Harlequin Romance. And I love romance novels so I'm not knocking Harlequin. The book was just short on substance.
I'm not a fan of women "suddenly" discovering they rock when a man comes into their lives, so that's another problem I had with the book. One of the GREAT things about this site is that I'm only kicking myself for wasting time reading this book and NOT for having wasted the book store price on buying it.

This is a VERY quick read. Perfect for the beach/park when you have no interest in a deep, meaningful plot. It's a great story, but it's written like a script and the authors are anticipating the movie version, with cheesy side comments and almost no descriptions. Now if they could only take this great fantasy idea and write a novel!!

I love the short chapters and with the great story, it was a very quick read. Although it kind of fell off in the end as if they wrapped the story up too quickly. All in all worth the read.

This story was far too much fantasy for me... Far too much into the world of pretend. It's really a fairy tale. If you cut out the few pages of sex, it would be a children's book. I found it disappointing and not at all on par with his other two love stories.

This book is stupid. Really, really stupid. Sure it's light and sappy and feel-good. But at its core it's just plain stupid. Jane has an imaginary friend as a little girl. His name is Michael and he's handsome and fun and cares about her in a way that her showbiz mother never could. Then Jane turns nine and Michael goes away. He warns her, but tells her that she won't ever remember him. They never do. But Jane is different. Jane never forgets Michael and how he just left her. Fast forward and Jane is now 32. She's working for her mother, dating an actor who is only with her for her connections and BOOM--there's Michael again. Michael doesn't understand it. Neither does Jane. But the two soon find themselves in the middle of a love story for the ages.
Again, this book is stupid. It's too much like that Cecelia Ahern book, If You Could See Me Now (which, btw, was also stupid). If you can get over the complete improbability of an imaginary friend coming to life (well, I suppose it's possible if the book is actually good), how can you not be creeped out by the idea of the imaginary friend and the woman he looked out for as a little girl hitting it? Ewww. It's like incest. It's like Celine Dion and her creepy manager-turned-husband. But it's really my fault. I knew I would hate this from the beginning once I glanced at the title. There is no famous jewelry store called "Tiffany's" (which, unfortunately, is what the title is attempting to refer to). There is a TIFFANY & CO., but no Tiffany's. This was a wonderful surprise of a book. A quick read, great for an afternoon at the pool or the beach. It takes the reader through a lot of emotions and makes you want to live each day as if it were your last. Any woman can relate to the insecurity issues that are touched on by the main character.

I loved this book. I actually bought it at a yard sale, only because the preious owner kept saying how wonderful the boo was. At first I thought it sounded silly. She said it was a bout a little girl who had an imaginary friend. As I read it I fell in love with the little girl, and cheered at her successes. I was kept enthralled throughout the entire book. I never got bored and it was a little surprising closer to the end. It was an overall 9 of 10.

I am a huge James Patterson fan and when I discovered that he could also write romance novels I fell more in love with his writting. He has 3 romance novels in the mix of all the mystery and thriller novels and they are all three so good. This one is at the top of my list of all time favorites. I love it!

I have a friend who disliked this book, but I'm a fan of his so I checked this out from the library and it did not disappoint. It's true that the storyline is based in fantasy-but I think that's what makes it such a fun read. It's a quick read, and for me, it was an emotional one as well. There were some unanswered questions for me, but overall I enjoyed it a lot.

I enjoyed the sense of innocence in the story. The love story between the main characters is very unreal and that's what I liked about it, the fiction that allowed me to dream. It's a very easy read and has a good vocabulary. I would suggest it to anyone who has an open mind about love, fiction and endless possibilities.

The book was okay. The thing that made me pick this book was the idea of what the story could be like. Imagine having an imaginary friend from your childhood magically appearing in solid human form one day. What would that be like, and what would happen? So, I wanted to see what Patterson believed would happen. The storyline was predictable once I started reading. The ending wasn't that original. I found myself rolling my eyes at this woman's imaginary friend when he starts to feel attracted to her on a whole other level besides friendship. I know there are rules to being someone's imaginary friend, but I thought it took him a little to long to come to terms with the idea of loving this woman. Overall, it moved slowly, and had a cheese ball ending, which some people will love.

i loved this book part of the end made me cry because it was soo good. haha it is a very easy read and i read it in two days. i actually got this book from my great grandmother last week and thought it sounded interesting. once i read about the author i realized i had read some of his other books. he is a very good writer and this is a very interesting story plot. i do agree with one of the people below that it was short. i wish it could have been a little longer. i hate it when a good book ends.

This was my first JP book, and all I can say is 'too cute!' This is a lovely, light-hearted read. I LOVED the main characters (a woman and her long-time love, who happens to be her childhood imaginary friend)... how honest and unencumbered they seemed. The baggage they did carry was more funny than weighted. Even the lousy boyfriend in the story was so transparent that I didn't feel threatened by him but found him to be more of a humorous sidekick. Anyway, every once in a while it's fun to curl up with good eye candy, and this book dishes it out tastefully. The only thing I was a little disppointed by was the ending. I won't be a spoiler, but it was a bit too cheesy, even for my taste. But the rest of the book was so enjoyable, I won't hold it against him.

This is one of the sweetest stories I've ever read; it gave me the same feeling as eating a candy bar--without all the caloric guilt. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the humorous voice of the main character, although I do think the storyline could've had a little more drama. My grandma also loved this book and read it very quickly.

Michael leaves, but Jane never forgot Michael like she was supposed to. :( The universe or The Man, has something in store for these two because..something very interesting is about to happen in the crazy world of Jane. :)

The chapters alternate from Jane's point of view to Michael's, so the reader finds out what each is thinking, it's nice. :) At times it could be so very funny and at others so very sad :( At some point I wanted to cry because I thought something horrible was about to happen, this book is just so gripping! It is a completly lovely page turner that I had to finish once I got started. Like I said before, I highly recommend it.

This is the first book that I've read by James Patterson. I've heard so much hype about his books and decided that this would be the first that I try. And... I absolutely loved it. Of course I read the summary of what this book was about, but I was blown away at how the story actually went anyway. I now look forward to reading more of his books. Awesome!

I typically love James Patterson, but I'm finding myself less a fan of his collaborative romance novels than I am of his Alex Cross series and the non-romance novels. That said, this is a very functional, very readable novel. The premise is that a young girl with a very successful, distant mother finds herself taking solace in the comfort of her imaginary friend, the handsome and dashing Michael. Fast-forward twenty years, and Jane is working for her mother and feeling alone despite dating a handsome (if intolerable) actor. She is supposed to have forgotten her imaginary friend, but when she catches a glimpse of him in a bar, the memories come flooding back and she becomes convinced, despite her best efforts, that her imaginary friend is back, and he is real. It's a very sweet book, and I think I would have liked it a lot better if I were a fan of the genre. You can't miss with Patterson.

I love this book. Patterson is a favorite writer of mine, particularly with the Alex Cross books, but this book was something different and something special. It is a love story that spans all of our greatest hopes and dreams and touches us somewhere deep within. If you liked the movie "City of Angels", you'll love this book.

I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I don't know how he did it.. change murder and mystery suddenly into the most beautiful romance books, but it's amazing. I deffently recommend this book, with a little bit make believe, and a lot of romance, this is one of my favorite romance books of all time.

I am a Patterson fan usually but this one falls way short of the mark. Not up to his usual standard for his romance stories. Shallow, predictable and asks the reader to suspend reality a little too far for the circumstances.

"Sundays at Tiffany's" is a dramatic departure from the crime novels readers have come to expect from James Patterson. In fact, it's even unique amongst the very few romance novels he has written. I am normally a big James Patterson fan but I think for this one the book is coming more from the additional author, Gabrielle Charbonnet. Because I was expecting a different type of book, I was little dissapointed. The story line was ok but I had trouble connecting with the characters.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a light read that kept me glued to it until I was done. The authors did a great job creating a storyline of a little girl's bond with her imaginary friend - and later her bond with him as a love interest. I thought it was sweet and fun. There are a couple twists at the end that surprised me.

This was a book that sat on my bookshelf forever. It was given to me by a friend that highly recommended it. I thought the premise of the story was completely ridiculous. I was proved wrong when I finally decided to read it. Though the concept does sound weird (girl falls in love with her imaginary friend?angel/man). I say angel, but you can decide for yourself. If you are a fan of love stories this one may be different, but definitely worth a try.
This is the first James Patterson book I have read and I loved it. This was such a amazing story. Though the concept of the imaginary friend seems odd, Patterson some how wrote it without coming off as sci-fi or as a paranormal romance.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a very fresh storyline and it was really easy to relate to. I remember my imaginary friend and the first time I noticed that she was no longer with me. James Patterson did a good job of incorporating the imaginary friends into the realistic story. An excellent easy read. It also has short chapters so you can read a few each night before turning out the light!

The story here is pretty simple. Jane's childhood imaginary friend pops back into her life in adulthood. The genre is different from the Patterson we all know and love, but it's quite refreshing and still an interesting read. The character portrayal is very simple as well and makes for a quick read that's hard to put down (which does not make it surprising to me that the co-author also writes children's books). Four out of five.

It never ceases to amaze me how Patterson can go from writing about homocidal psychopaths and then write a beautiful love story ... he really is a wonderfully talented writer. This story is definitely a totally new plot ... one I'm not sure has ever been written about before, and quite ingenius and yet if you stop and think about it ... a wee bit disturbing as well. But you won't be sorry that you read it (I read it in one day) ... Jane and Michael's story will win your heart. It is like all of his other books ... A+!
I usually go for suspense/thriller books, James Patterson being one of my favorite authors. What a surprise this NON-suspense/thriller book was - and an equal surprise how much I enjoyed it. The story is so innocent and delightful, it pulls you in immediately, and you find yourself rooting for both of the main characters as if they were your dearest friends. It's a love story, but not a raunchy, sex-driven romance. Instead it takes root and blossoms into something beautiful that everyone wishes for.
welllll--this was different! very easy reading and can read it in only one day BUT I was kind of confused---how can an imaginary friend become 'real' if he isn't an angel or something? I'm not a Harlequin romance person and I don't think it fits in with those, it is a love story but it also is kind of like a person finally finding themselves and becoming their own person. More power to Michael and Jane but was he an angel that God let become human? Thought that part was kind of unclear.
This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. James Patterson has shown another side to his writing. The story has been done but not this way. You get into the characters right away and just don't want to put the book down. Its a "have to read" book.

This book was terrible. Trite and pointless.
I only got to about page 130 before skipping to the end of the book. It just did not captivate me in anyway and most of what the book was describing seemed pointless. I mostly wished for the Author to start getting to a good part already but it never happened for me. Apparently this book was just not for me.

This was my first and last attempt at a James Patterson story. I am a true romantic at heart, however, this story was very inconceivable. Quite a cheesy story that should be categorized as fantasy. There seemed to be no real climax but plenty of dramatization of what seems to be a perfect life to me. I was unable to relate, especially since it is hard for me to imagine the heroine being with a fictional character that she has known as a grown man from the age of eight. Ew.

In the 3 years that I've been on this website I've never recommended a book. But this one I must. Initially I had my doubts when I read the first few pages if it would be something that I'd like... but it was fabulous and brought many of my emotions to the surface.
I kept reading this book because I had heard how great it was and thought, surely it's going to get better, but it never did. I found it to be predictable without a lot of depth. Sorry Patterson fans, not impressed.

It moved rather quickly, took a strange jump to arrive at the end, and should have had "Happily Ever After" painted over the epilogue. Just a little too pat, and little too rote for my taste.

Wow. An excellent read. A modern day fairytale of sorts. I did not expect what this book gave. A new and wonderful love story. It is what everyone looks for in a love story and hope for for ourselves - both men and women.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was a short sweet little book. The idea was cute and the ending came as you expected. The only real complaint I had was that the characters could have been more developed and the relationships between the female lead and her mother could have been explored in more detail. Overall it was a nice, Sunday read.

I loved this book! It is the tale of a little girl who has an "imaginary" friend that is her constant companion throughout her childhood. Then when she's 12 or so her friend tells her he must leave her now that she is older. Years pass and suddenly when she's an adult she meets her friend again and realizes that she has fallen in love with him. The question is ... Is he imaginary or real? Can they be together or will they be torn apart once again? All romantics will be carried away by this tale.
This is a great book by James Patterson. I just finished it and it was great.

I really loved this book. It is a departure from his usual crime type stories, but it is written with his usual short chapters and the need to keep reading. This story is about an imaginery friend who must leave his human friend when she is nine years old, because that is the rule of the imaginery friend job. He promises she will never remember him, but she does. As an adult she grows to be a very successful business woman, but not with her love life, until one day she sees her imaginery friend again and falls giddy in love.
It was fun to read because of the fantasy aspect, and that it was not over the top. A good pleasure read.

Here is Patterson reaching out in the direction of LOVE, again. Too bad he's pretty good at it or we'd see more mysteries, which he's better at. This one is certainly pure imagination but he's such a darn good writer you almost believe it's possible. Unfair, James! It took me a long time to grow up and you just threw me back into my early childhood without much effort at all! Now I have to crawl back to reality again.

Really didn't enjoy this one. I guess I'm just too literal.
I expected a quick enjoyable read, and was not satisfied. It was quick, but lacked any real plot. I felt like I was reading a childrens book with adult situations.
This was an engaging, captivating book. One that is hard to put down, so much that I finished it in a day! Sweet, kind, heart felt writing. A must read.
