I read this one in just a few hours. It was much better than the last two, harking back to the first part of the series. I loved the characters, especially the Heroine. Fun rea

If you had to look up the word "jacka@@" in the dictionary, you will see a picture of Tom. Seriously having two kids like Nora I wouldn't take kindly to a guy telling me he just wants to full around without being serious. If I was without kids, then it's a different story. But that's the beauty of Carr novels. She can write these characters that grate me the wrong way but I still love to read the story.

Nora saved the book for me. I loved her attitude and resiliency. I wished she stood up to Tom more often but given her background I can see how her self-esteem would let him step all over her. I also loved the way she mirrored Maxie (Tom's grandmother).

It was an easy, quick read. I think Nora could do better than Tom but at least she is getting her dream house and awesome grandmother-in-law at the end.

When Nora Crane saw the posted job notice for apple pickers at Cavanaugh Farms she was very excited. This was her chance to finally have a decent paying job. Nora had been struggling with two part-time jobs and the help of various community members to support her two daughters. But Tom Cavanaugh takes one look at Nora and figured she will be a distraction for the farm workers. His grandmother, owner of the farm, overrules him and hires Nora. Soon Tom discovers that Nora is a hard worker and the only person she is distracting is him.

Another excellent addition to the Virgin River series. Nora is an incredible character who has known adversity most of her life. We get to see her gain confidence in her new job and her relationship with her estranged father. Tom is a nice guy who is ready to settle down on the family farm. He begins seeing Darla, the wife of a marine buddy who was killed in the war. Darla makes it clear that she is ready to get on with her life and she has picked Tom. It was very interesting to see Tom comparing Darla with Nora. It didn't take him long to make the right choice.

In the middle of the book, a new character, Hank Cooper, is introduced. I'm not sure if there was a point to his story, unless it was to bring some of our favorite Virgin River characters into the series. I subtracted one-half point from my rating because Coop's chapters seemed so random in an otherwise excellent book. My rating: 4.5 Stars.

In this book, Nora is a strong woman who has gone thru alot in her young life.
With two little girls to raise, she wants to do the right thing, find a home for them, get a job, and settle down.
When she gets a job at the Cavanaugh's orchard, she meets Tom and her attraction and respect grow for him...and along the way, Nora learns about her past, her family and what she wants in her future.
I also enjoyed Maxie ( Toms Grandmother ), she is a strong, and "down to earth" woman. She enjoys the simpler things in life including her life on her Orchard.

Ive read many of "The Virgin River" books, and loved them all!

Another great book from Robyn Carr in the Virgin River series. Tom Cavanaugh the owner of the apple orchard who makes a brief appearance in Redwood Bend is our main character in this book. As he has returned to be back in the apple business he is finally getting into his groove when Nora walks in needing a job and some support for her and her two young daughters. The reader may know where this story will end, but Robyn Carr takes you on an adventure before depositing you right where you thought you would end up. A little bit of romance and a lot of great characters give this book the depth to make it more than just a romance novel.

My only negative thought for this one was the random story line between the bar owner Jack and Coop. It popped up in the middle of the book and resolved, but seemed very random as it didn't go along with the bigger story that this book was centered around. Just thought it was kind of random.

I may have said this before, but I love how each book takes place in the same town but centers around a different character. It is so fun to learn more about each towns person in their own book. I will definitely continue to devour this series.

On a side note, you do not have to read this series in particular order because each book stands quite nicely on its own.

As with all Robyn Carr' s Virgin River series, I found this book wonderful. It is an easy read with the right amount of excitement, love , humor, and character development. The author makes the reader want to live in Virgin River for the delightful way of life depicted.

To tell you the truth, I've been up highway 36 in Humboldt and Trinity counties a fair amount, and the people there aren't quite like this.

OMG! I have to say that I liked this one the best. It departs drastically from the usual love story and has a lot of suspense, right up to the very end! I loved this and would give it 10 stars if I could. I am nearing the end of this series and I have to say I am very sad. I feel like I am a part of their lives. Only one more to go. I highly recommend the entire series.
