Just a little disappointing after reading the first three books in the series. This one had all the main characters from the first three books as supporting characters. It had a whole new main character, Marisa, who comes to Mount Polbearne with a whole set of problems. She finally starts interacting with all the charming people who live there, and during a crisis on the island, she comes out of her shell out of necessity. It was a great story-and I just love Jenny Colgan's writing, and all the British nuances.

Book #4 in the series.
It seems Mount Polbearne, a remote tidal island at the foot of Cornwall, is a place where people end up who have nowhere else to go or anyone to care for them. Marissa is experiencing extreme grief over the loss of her beloved grandfather and retreats further away from everyone. She ends up in Mount Polbearne. I love the character development by the author. This set of quirky characters had me wanting to hurry up and read the book, but sad that it ended as well. This little island of "misfits" has a way of restoring people. Love the series; love the author!!!
