Anyone looking at my queue of books can see I love soft porn--Linda Howard and Bella Andre, Ella Grace---but I also like a good story with character development. In this "case file" the reader meets Liam Campbell's father. The interaction and internal responses to "dad" gives Dana Stabenow's stories some fun character development. Liam is also far from perfect and descriptions do not make him to be a gorgeous hunk--just a tall strapping guy with human emotions. Also fascinating is his love interest, Wy. She's compassionate and beautiful. Lot's of internal struggles there too. To fill out the story there are interesting others, like the shaman Moses, and the klacking Raven. Is Liam just Edgar Allen Poe is a new incarnation?
Seven people have died on a boat, with the plugs pulled to make it sink.At an archeology site a man is found with a knife in his throat.Liam has a rookie officer to help him now.I enjoy this author and the way she tells a story. This is the 2nd one about Liam, and will be more intence if you have read the first one--Fire and Ice.Although it can stand alone.
Alaska State Trooper Liam Campbell searches for the killer of a family of fishermen. Great Alaska type setting and good suspense.
A great new series from Dana Stabenaw whose Kate Shugak Alaska mysteries are such fun. This one involves an Alaska State Trooper and an architectural dig and, of course, murder(s)
I really love this series as much as her Kate Shugak series. I wish she'd write more of them.
