A relate-able read (at least for mothers of young children)
Thankfully, this is not a parenting book - I avoid those like the plague (because, let's be honest, your child never read them and has a mind of his own). But it is a testimonial about motherhood - the highlights and the moments of terror. The thoughts that go on in every mother's heart that are rarely addressed. The hopes, the fears, the hard times, the days you want to quit, and love that compels you forward. It's her story - the story of her brokenness, her unexpected life "plot twist", and her more surprising (to her) healing.
Because of where I am in life, my gut reaction is to give the book five stars, but it truly depends on the season of life you are in. I recognize that it is truly dependent on the season in which you currently walk as to whether or not this book will resonate with you. It's kindof the nature of the beast. All in all, I definitely recommend this semi-autobiographical work to get a glimpse into the life of a mother ... and for encouragement for those of us still in the trenches.
