In this second book in The Royal Four series, Olivia and Dane Calwell marry after knowing each other for a very short time. Olivia is a unique young woman, but has yet to spread her wings after living with a rather horrendous mother. Dane is an elite spy for the British government, but has no intentions of filling Olivia in on this secret.
Dane also has a, uh, large "probelm." Lots of steamy love scenes ensue. On the more serious side of the plot, this book deals largely with expectations - real and disappointed, misunderstood and unspoken, met and exceeded. Of course there's humor and lots of action, and reappearances by others in the Four and some of the Liars. Not my favorite book in this particular quartet, but still a cut above the average romance novel.

Good to book to read. I had a hard time with her last book, but had no problem with this book
Olivia Calwells new husband, Dane, is everything she could have hoped for in a man. The handsome Lord Greenleigh is charming, debonair, even a bit mysteriousand just thinking of their wedding night makes Olivia blush with pleasure. Yet she cant help but wonder what exactly Dane does all day. His hushed meetings with strangers, his odd comings and goingsit is all enough to drive Olivia mad! Could her beloved new husband be involved in something dangerous? Could he even be spying for France?
Spy Dane Calwell knows the new Lady Greenleigh is poised, well-educated, and utterly captivating. But hes just discovered that Olivia is also the most curious creature he has ever met! Most wives dont give a whit what their husbands do all day. Why must Olivia ask so many questionsand meddle in matters that do not concern her? Truth be told, Dane finds Olivias quick mind enchanting. But when Olivia gets too close to the mission at hand, Dane must try to stop her before its too lateor risk losing his beautiful wife forever

I wasn't too enthralled with this book in the series. I liked the rest, though. Hot and steamy, though.

If you like historical romance this was okay.

The description on the back of this book doesn't have a whole lot to do with the actual plot, but it was worth reading anyway if not as good as the rest of the series.
Mostly this book has to do with what happens when Dane's work as a spy, his lack of trust in other people, and his "large problem" runs up against Olivia's horrible and impoverished family, her insecurities, and willingness to please.

Book 2 in the Royal Four series. I loved every one of the books! I think this one was one of my favorites of all Bradley's.
Book Two in The Royal Four series.
I enjoyed reading this book which was very heavy on romance and not so much on the adventure. I wish there was more character development with the minor characters - but I guess that will be in a different book. Otherwise, it is a light, fast read.
If you enjoy this author or this time period, then you'll enjoy this book.
