My 10 year old son liked this book because he thought it was funny and cool. It is about a boy who did some bad things at his old school and was kicked out and sent to a home school. He didn't like everyone there at first but then he began to change and realized that he didn't have to act the way he used to.
Jake Semple is a scary kid and now he's been thrown out of middle school and must attend a home school run by the most chaotic family, the Applewhites. However, they're all artists except for E.D. who is quickly paired for "cooperative education". A wonderful story about bringing a family together and the value of the special gifts they've had all along!
This is a great book to read with your preteen kid
