I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It took me maybe 75-100 pages to really get into it, then I couldn't put it down. Kyle Mills did an excellent job continuing with Vince Flynn's character, Mitch Rapp.

I was saddened to hear of Vince Flynn's death in 2013 because I thought there would be no more Mitch Rapp, one of my favorite thriller series. But I am glad to say that Rapp is alive and well in the hands of Kyle Mills. This was a great action/thriller and a continuation of the last Flynn novel, The Last Man (which I haven't read and now definitely need to get to). In that novel, a rogue CIA agent named Joe Rickman was killed, but left behind a massive amount of critical data that could bring down the CIA and possibly the United States Government. In this novel, the data is being leaked one file at a time as a posthumous betrayal by Rickman. Rapp is pulled in to find out how the data is being disbursed and who is behind it. But at the same time, the Pakistani ISI (secret service) is also after the data to be used as a means to put down the CIA and the US. High recommendation for this one. Now I just need to get back to the Rapp novels by Flynn that I have missed!

Hunky Mitch Rapp is in good hands with Kyle Mills. Thanks to him for taking him on and continuing with Vince Flynn's legacy of one of my favorite authors, who died too young.

I loved this book and had my eyes glued on it until I was forced to put it down since I was so bleary eyed!

Keep up the good work Mr. Mills. You have a new fan.

Vince Flynn's early death from cancer cut short his writing career, but his legacy appears to be in good hands. If you've read Kyle Mills' Mark Beamon books, his style and the late Vince Flynn's blended so seamlessly The Survivor came off a cohesively, beautifully done book. The characters remained true and the plotting was tight and classic Flynn.

The Survivor picks up with a continuation of the plotline in The Last Man with the late Joe Rickman - brilliant and traitorous - reaching out from the grave to inflict public damage to the CIA and its insider agents informants in other governments, people Rickman should never have known about. His plan is to slowly leak information and kill the agency he came to hate by causing endless humiliating problems with the deaths of human intelligence sources they can neither predict nor stop. It's up to Rapp to stop what's happening.

It's a really good plot and well executed. You'll only see Mills' hand slide in now and then if you know his Beamon books really well and recognize his sly wit. He was an all-around excellent choice to take over. I hope he does more in this series.

I really love this entire series. If you start reading this make sure to google which order to read them in -- you can find this on the web -- the numbers that the publisher uses are just in order of being published.
