A successful, singer Londoner and a comfortable, Connecticut mother of two walk in each other's shoes for a month. A must-read for every modern woman who's ever considered the road not taken. A warm, realistic chronicle of two women who do more than wonder if the grass in greener on the other side of the Atlantic.

Well. I love the idea of this book. I love that it proclaims itself as a book that won't have a prepackaged happy ending. I love that the people in the book are not perfect, dreamboat people. I hate that the revelations themselves are obvious. I enjoyed this book, but I found parts of it to be somewhat grating.

I hate to admit because I am a huge Green fan, but I was disappointed after reading this book. It just wasn't as good as many of her others.

This book was only an ok read. I have loved her other books but this one did not grasp my attention like I had hoped it would. If this is the only Jane Green book you have read and you liked it, then you should read her others I think you would really enjoy them.

This was the first Jane Green book that I have read. It put me off a bit on the rest of her books sitting on my TBR pile. This book read very, VERY slow. At points, I was about to give up on it, but I needed to know how it ended. Pretty predictable ending, not the best writing. It'll be awhile before I pick up another of her books. I hope this was one of her worst because I had such high hopes!

I love all of Jane Green's books! She has a great modern, witty, and emotional way of telling stories. This book goes a little deeper than most of her other books, in my opinion. I think the moral of this story is that while you might think someone else's life is better than yours, the grass isn't always greener on the other side!

Have you ever heard the saying "Walk a mile in my shoes?" Well this book takes it literal when two woman, one from the states and one from London, decide to swap lives with each other. One woman is a house wife with children the other a successful business woman, both unsatisfied with there lives. It is a great read, especially if you have always wondered what it was like to live someone else's life. It is full of hilarious moments and real life situations, witty, a great book, I couldn't put it down.

Jane Green is always witty and hits the vital points directly with a bit of humor. The grass isn't always greener and everyone has got some sort of problems, some of us just hide them better. I truly enjoyed it. :) Sending this back into the world as I was lucky enough to get it here on PBS!

I thought this book took awhile to get going. Once the swap actually happened it became more interesting, but I feel the author rushed the ending. It was built up and up and then it just ended. I wish there had a bit more at the end. It was entertaining for a lazy summer read.

A good, quick read, but not as good as her others.

i read everything by jane green because the first book i read by her, jemima j is one of my favorites.

this was ok, but not one of her best. i really didnt get into the two main characters, vicky and amber, who swap lives for a month, until about page 250 or so.

amber has the perfect life of a lady who lunches, and vicky lives the fabulous single girl life. vicky, a writer for a magazine, decides to swap lives for a month for an article.

they are both so excited to leave their own lives, they dont realize what (or wo) they have- until they are gone.

This is a pretty cute easy read. Two women swap lives to find out if the grass is really greener on the other side. If you're a mom like me then it will have you thinking about your single days as well.

Definitely not Jane Green's best. It's not a new concept if you have heard of the show, "wife swap".

I literally forced myself to keep reading this book, but gave up after 65 pages. One of the most silly, vacuous, stories I've attempted to read. Not at all worthy of a decent review. Don't waste your time.

"Wives of Orange County" meets Bridgit Jones Diary. Very fun read with a great message.

This is the first of Jane Green's novels I have read, and I only branched out because I have read every word that my favorite authoresses have written. I was pleasantly surprised! I loved the style in which this book was written. I felt as if it were written in the style of a documentary film. You were in the characters lives, but you were also disconnected by the third person retelling, and it lent a great deal to the subject matter of the novel.
I also thought the story was very cute and fairly original, which is hard to find when you read as much as I do. I highly recommend Jane Green to anyone who likes British chick lit. She's fabulous!

I've loved some of her other books. This one sounds better than it is. I love the idea, but very slow read. I was disappointed.

As simple and predictable as this book was- I could NOT put it down! I was a really good book. I liked that it seemed realistic and that it was funny. I could imagine all of the characters pretty well too,

My only complaint would be the dialogue. It was bit..um, the same for everyone. Its like all the characters had a somewhat british tone, even the american ones.

But other than that I would recommend for a fun read!

A great book. I really enjoyed seeing where the 'swapping' was going to go and to see how each woman appreciated with she had after seeing the "grass" on the other side.

This was a cute story. Third book I have read by Jane Green. Overwrought American mother of two would give anything to be carefree and single again and swaps places with a magazine editor in England. Great poolside reading!

Jane Green is one of chick-lit's best authors, and Swapping Lives does not disappoint. Editor Vicky Townsley longs for marriage, family and a house in the country. For a feature story she swaps lives for a month with Amber Winslow, an uber-suburbanite, complete with designer wardrobe, perfect McMansion, and a competitive life.

How both women cope, and what both women learn, make for interesting and somewhat insightful reading.
