I'd be happy to write a review for this book.....just as soon as I figure out what it said! I'm a child of the 60's/70's and am all about self enlightenment, but I just couldn't keep pace with what Tolle was trotting out. Sorry folks, my ego is well in check and admits defeat. I just don't get it.

I liked A New Earth better than this one because of the way it is written. The message is similar but A New Earth is more pleasing and readable IMHO. This one is written in a sort of "question and answer" format that I found felt very contrived and silly.

I tried to get into this book. I've read a lot of books on spirituality but Eckhart Tolle's style of writing is horrible. It's off-kilter. I don't know how to explain it. He writes just like he talks ... he drones on and on. When you get halfway through a page, you try to figure out what the hell he just wrote about! So you end up going back to the beginning and the cycle starts over. The title reminds me of the Sanford Meisner acting method or "in the moment." Being in the present, always aware of what is going on around you, and being open to the possibilities but, alas, it wasn't at all like that. The only reason I think Tolle is even popular is because of Oprah. I also have an issue with "A New Earth," which will, more than likely, end up on PBS in a few weeks.
