Enjoyable and humorous--keep going!
So I found this friend I thought I had lost forever...she came about me on one of those websites that you sign into to find all your friends in 20 years to see if they are as fat as you are. She sent me an e-mail and I was so excited that I e-mailed her right back and waited for the response. I had a picure posted on the site that was not of me and she was saying that she was really amazed at how great I looked. I had used a picture of a girl I found on the internet that if I never had a kid and didn't party so hard over the years and had money it was very feasible that I might look like that at my age. It took no hesitation to tell her it wasn't me and she kept on talking and wanted to see me. I had not had such good luck reconnecting with people in my past so I started to have apprehensions in this connection. That was at first. I thought I might never see her, I was under the assumption that she lived in the Hawaii islands, so when she said she lived near our old High School...I could not wait! We were on the same land mass...there might be hope. We exchanged long e-mails and a couple cut short phone calls. One night I was out and about and actually gave it a shot and called her, I had a couple hours to burn and she was halfway between home and where I was at. I showed up at her house and was so happy when I saw her...she was the same girl as she was in high school but had cool black rimmed glasses on and no pink stripes in her hair. That night I almost drank a whole bottle of wine and crashed on her couch. We talked and talked and talked and forgot to call home. I came to realize that we had more in common now than in high school and she was then in my top 10 of all-time friends that I had encountered in my travels. She soon was at the top of my list of people to call/e-mail and talk about "book club". She joined the online book club I was in and that was almost 4 months ago..... TO BE CONTINUED.... |
