I just completely loved this book! The tale of a dressmaker and a liveryman....how opposite can you get! She values beauty...he condemns it. Oh, how the sparks fly!
I really liked the reference to the city of Jericho from the Bible. Very clever!
This is Karen Witemeyer's first novel and I think it's a homerun.

I rate this one at 4 1/2 stars! A little more action and a little faster pace would have put me over the top to a five star rating. I enjoyed the story very much, but it was a little slow in some spots. It is a great novel, however, one that I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Historical Christian Fiction.

Karen Witemeyer has written a wonderful debut novel! Her writing skills are exceptional, and she has a real talent for creating characters that come to life, and creating scenes that make you feel like you're right there with the characters. I felt like the time period was written very well, and I enjoyed all of the characters very much.

I love the positive effect Hannah had on everyone that she came into contact with. Whether it was Cordelia, Ezra, or Jericho, she knew how to bring out the best in all of them.

It's an all around wonderful story, and I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to read it! I look forward to Karen's next book, Head in the Clouds!

Sometimes I'm in the mood for a sweet, gentle romance with a dashing hero and this book, A Tailor-Made Bride fits the bill! Too boot it's a debut novel for author Karen Witemeyer! All I can say is if this book is that good, what's her next one going to be like?

This story, set in the late 19th century, features beautiful seamstress and dressmaker, Hannah Richards and rough, sometimes gruff liveryman, Jericho "J.T." Tucker. If you like a thoroughly modern heroine and a stubborn hero look no further than these two. If you're a fan of "damsel in distress" rescue scenes there are a few of those as well.

While not the most thought provoking book, an important message of seeking God to better understand oneself and beauty is prevalent throughout the story. Remember don't judge a book by its cover! ;-) However when it comes to books this time you can. The cover of A Tailor-Made Bride is beautiful as well as the story on the pages between it!

I loved this debut book by Karen Witemeyer and look forward to future works from her! This is a very sweet story that frustrated me at times (MEN!). I read it in about 6 hours and loved every minute of it!

The more historical novels I read the more I desire to live in that time period. I love the details given in the dresses and other handmade accessories that Hannah provides for this lovely town. J.T. was quite the character in this book and I really wanted to wring his neck a few times and give him some lessons on manners. I do think men could take a lesson or two from this time period when it comes to the treatment of women though!

This would make a great book for young women to those more seasoned. Highly recommended!

This book is a very well written story. It was very hard to put down. I got it from the library and I forgot about it, but then I found it and I picked it up and read the preface and was caught up reading. Found myself reading chapter 6. I had to put it down to fix dinner. But after dinner I did not even turn on the TV I just picken up the book. I finished it in a day and a half.

GREAT BOOK

I really enjoyed this book by Karen Witemeyer. It's an excellent read for those of us who enjoy historical western Christian romance novels. I especially enjoyed the parts of Hannah's exercise routines! People thought her brisk morning walks were strange. No one went walking unless they had somewhere to go! I recommend this book and look forward to more work by this author.

I just love all of Karen Witemeyer's historical, romance novels and use them for my night time reading with no worries of filth seeping into my mind before I drift off :)

This was an enjoyable romance. I loved how Hannah turned Jericho's perceptions of her upside down. I also enjoyed that Hannah was an independent woman but was not so independent that she didn't need anyone. Full review at my website.

This is a great book I can not put down book. A professional seamstress Hannah comes to town, after having bought a seamstress shop. A fiery love story ensues. JT falls in love with Hannah.HE is is a tall, well built Texan man of many trades, but he thinks that as a christian he should not get involved with Hannah whom he thinks is a worldly women as a seamstress making beautiful dresses. Jt has a lot to learn about women. This story moves quickly with several other romances. JT is a kind CHristian man helping a poor widow with 3 children.
