Both stories were good. While the blurbs make you think that these stories abound with rape and abuse, they are actually not nearly that dark. Yes, there is kidnapping and nonconsensual sex, but it's the kind where the heroine is so hot she can't help herself and the elves are so loving you want the girl to just give it up, because she won't be finding it better anywhere else. LOL Definitely fantasy!

Dark Elves 1: Taken was surprisingly good. It wasn't at all what I expected and I really liked the main characters. It's about a race of dark elves that only produces males. They have to kidnap human women to procreate with. I thought they were perfect together and I felt that Salin (the hero) treated Diana in exactly the way she needed. I know she felt that she was forced and I could see that, but Salin really made it work for them. My only complaint is that I wish there was a little more focus on the world that the dark elves live in. What little that was given was interesting and I wanted to know more about it. I recommend it.

Dark Elves 2: Mastered was good, but not as good as Taken. I didn't connect with the H/h as much in this book. The conflict was a little pointless since it was obvious that there was going to be an HEA. Now, you could say it was obvious in Taken, however the struggle with Salin and Diana was amongst themselves. In Mastered, the conflict was in the form of the King and I figured he wasn't going to get what he wanted. I did like the fact that we learned a little more about the world that the dark elves live in.

OMG very hot. Elves created just to bring pleasure to women. They know exactly what you like. You don't have to guide them. What more could you ask for.

Erotic Fantasy romance from Loose ID. Two stories. A society of secretive Dark Elves abduct females traveling through the Dark Forest, and make them a part of thier community. Highly erotic tales. The women object at first, then figure out that there are advantages to being a part of this community. Stories include D/s, menage, and hot romance. Pretty good read, if you like erotic romance and interesting characters.

I've given 'Taken' a lower rating because I found the erotic tales to be darker than what I enjoy reading. The premise for the two stories in this novel is very appealing; secretive elves who kidnap woman for pleasure, mating, and having children. The elves are strong but also endearing once they find their mates. But I would have enjoyed more story telling and world building. Stories includes menage a trois and some whipping...cool for some but not what I enjoy reading.

I enjoyed this series and the world building goes deeper the farther into the series you get. The stories get deeper into the world as you read. They should definitely be read in order. This was very different from what I have read before and I would recommend it.

This book was hot! But, if you like romance with your sex, this isn't for you. The erotic scenes were plentiful and hot. The plot was more in line with a short story or stories, which is what this was, and lacked the fine details that build the characters. I consider it an "engine revving" read , not a long hot ride. (Good enough for a Friday night quickie with the hubby, but not good enough to build steam under the collar that lasts through homework, dinner and dishes.)
And, I don't know about you, but the idea of living underground forever, doesn't turn me on it creeps me out.

Too weird for me.
