Classic Christie, classic Hercule Poirot. Slightly slow at the beginning, but quickly picks up steam and charges to the very interesting end.

Agatha Christie wrote great mysteries, but I've never really been a big fan of her Hercule Poirot character. Still, this one was really good. Kept me up late to finish reading it.
All I can tell you about the plot is that nothing is as it seems.

There is a Tide (aka Taken at the Flood)
When a widow weaves a web...
Rosaleen Cloade has come to collect on her late husband's sizeable inheritance. But this is only the first intrusion on the Cloade family. The second is murder. And it is up to Detective Poirot to see the intrusions come to an end.

The alternate title of this book is "There Is A Tide" and both titles come from the line in Julius Caesar which says " There is a tide in the affairs of men when, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune." Fortune is definitely the key to this novel and the lengths to which men and women will go to obtain one.

This book on April A's shelf is actually titled "There is a Tide" (the original title) and the picture is different on the front cover as this is the "100th Anniversary Edition".
