One of my favorite Stephen King (and favorite Peter Straub, to be fair) books - a little challenging to read at times, but really opens up the imagination. One of the few books I like to re-read every now and then, as the story is quite captivating.

i loved this book from the moment i picked up and started reading it. this story is exactly what a book is to be, an adventure like no other. As a added bonus I met my most favorite character in literature, Woof. Larry from 'the stand', Nick from 'the langoliers' John from 'the dead zone' and Ben from 'It'. I loved them all but Woof's character I *adorned*. stephen king as the remarkable ability to make his characters so real and so alive that you mourn their pasting as you would a close friend (and with his writing there's a good chance you will mourn their death!) The Talisman is one of my all time favorite books and I recommend it just to introduce you to Woof!
