This was my first intro to romance novels. Georgette Heyer is the master! very enjoyable, but I'm still not going to start reading romance novels obsessively.
A romantic mystery, good. A girl runs away to avoid a marriage, only to be captured by smugglers.
Georgette Heyer is famous for her witty, sparkling dialogue. This book is no exception, yet the story is not as engaging as some of her other books.
Probably the best historical romance novel I've ever read. No steaminess, just good, witty writing.
