Overall, Tall, Dark & Kilted was an enjoyable read. Cilla and Hardwick (I have a real problem with his name, nickname or not) are likable characters, but their romance is built on looks only and they fall in love without really knowing much each other. Hardwick has been cursed and for the last seven hundred years, he has been pleasuring women without ever receiving his own pleasure. Finding Cilla, he asks to be released from the curse, which is granted in a round about way. A new curse has taken it's place and he must not become aroused for a year or the old curse will come back with additions.
The bizarre ways he tries to prevent himself from being aroused around Cilla are just that: bizarre.
The rest of the story is enjoyable and the other characters are likable as well.

Cute story. I liked it more than the first book (Highlander in her Bed - the only other thing I've read by her) though it was a bit long winded in places and I found myself skimming toward the end. The characters were likable and I liked seeing Hardwick again, but I think two books with this formula is enough for me and doubt I'd read any others in the series.

Another book I realized I've already read after several chapters - obviously before I started keeping track on this site. No problem, though, as Allie Mackay's books are fun reads and worth reading again. Don't assume that it's not memorable because I couldn't remember... that's just part of the weirdness of being me! You'll get a good laugh out of Hardwick de Studley (yes - really) and his shield.
quick easy read with likable characters that make you laugh. worth the read
