I found this book really helpful when I was a new mom with a newborn baby and a toddler. The reading is presented in almost haiku form - so, something definitely doable for a new mom. Each reading is like a little meditation; they range in topics from anger to clarity and listening. It is written by the same woman who wrote Infant Massage: A Handbook for Loving Parents.
This is an EXCELLENT book. I really enjoyed it and would/will read it again and again. Very inspirational.
