Entertaining, but more of a detective story than what I'd consider a dragon story. Telling too much takes away what surprise there is.
Engaging characters and a decent plot. It moves right along.

Fascinating story of modern crime, ancient wisdom and the bond of a common truth sought in love.
This book sounded so promising: early urban fantasy with a crime element and some connection to a dragon.
Unfortunately, that promise is really all there is. The characters are portrayed fairly simplistically, the dialogue is oddly disjointed and unfinished, and the plot doesn't make all that much sense. There is a love story that is neatly resolved with barely a hiccup. Throughout, there is a dated feeling to the story, primarily in the descriptions of things and people.
Perhaps the sequel is better.

"A deft blend of the oldest of magicks in a dragon and the newest of sorceries in computers...I thoroughly enjoyed it. - Anne McCaffrey

A gentle mystery, with a touch of paranormal. I thought it was a bit simplistic, but the hero was a very interesting character, as were a few of the supporting characters.
