The Tears of Autumn
The Tears of Autumn
Author: Charles McCarry
Spun with unsettling plausibility from the events surrounding the assassination of John F. Kennedy, and featuring secret agent Paul Christopher, The Tears of Autumn is a brilliant commentary on the force of illusion, the grip of superstition, and the overwhelming strength of blood and family in the affairs of a nation.

This is a well thought out and written spy novel. It isn't about the action scenes, it is about the behind the scenes intelligence and conspiracy theories. If you like intellectual thrillers more than the action ones, then this is you book.

Though the story seems likely to appeal, the narrative is too herky-jerky, with characters not fully fleshed out to where one cares about them, and no real logic or explanation given, or apparent, regarding how the story moves forward. I stopped reading it over half-way in, but before the end.

Book had a good idea but was a bit hard to follow in some places.
