Shipping Magnate Benjamin Sinclair sits on a letter for three weeks before he breaks the news to his two brothers. He has a fifteen year old son, and he never knew about it. Determined to know him, he books a two week bird hunt at Emma Sands sporting camps.
Emma has raised Michael since she was nineteen and her sister disappeared. She doesn't realize who "Tom Jenkins" is at first, and just knows he is going to be nothing but trouble with a capital T. But Michael is the spitting image of his father, and the ruse doesn't last long because Emma recognizes him the moment her eyes set on him. She had a crush on him sixteen years ago, even though he dated her sister. Now, the feelings all come rushing back, but is it the real thing?
Benjamin and Emma are constantly bickering. Ben is determined to have his way and posh on anything that gets in his way. He is determined to marry Emma and get to the bottom of a small-town mystery as well.
A sweet romance with small-town charm and engaging characters, Tempt Me If You Can is another sure hit for Ms. Chapman!!

I didn't care for this one as much as I did The Man Must Marry. It was not as light-hearted as the first and that's what I was looking forward to.
I am enjoying the series, though, and am looking forward to Jesse's story (book 3).

When Ben Sinclair finds out he has a 15-year-old son, he immediately heads to Maine to find him. Mike, who has been raised by his Aunt Emma, is happy to finally meet his father. Emma doesn't trust Ben, believing he abandoned her sister when he found out she was pregnant. Ben tries to build a relationship with his son, but soon learns that his son will not leave Maine without Emma. Now Ben must convince Emma that he can be a good father, and the man she needs in her life.
I thought the first half of this book was very choppy. Ben goes from seeking revenge against Emma for never telling him about his son, to loving her in a matter of a couple of pages. The last 100 pages of the book where Ben and Emma fighting against the villain of the story, were much more interesting. My rating: 2.5 Stars.

Difficult time getting into the book and once I did, it moved very slowly. I ended up skipping pages to get to the end. I usually like Janet Chapman books but this one wasn't very interesting.

I loved it and had a hard time putting it down. The characters are everyday people put in situations that could make you laugh or fighting mad at the bad guys. Life is tough but Emma made the best she could while hanging on for dear life. I have always loved male characters that are tough but have heart and understanding. Janet Chapman produces stories with people you can identify with. Her stories are always lively, full of warmth and laughter.
