Summary: Soâ¦you'd think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark's life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite's visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn't go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul?
OMG. I literly put that book down about two and a half seconds ago and actually pretty much threw it as I closed the last page. I am extremely disappointed in this book. It tells the reader basically nothing they didn't know before, it felt like filler, nothing but words to fill up the empty space between books. It was entertaining and an ok story but it did absolutely nothing for the plot of the series. I am completely depressed by this, there were plenty of opportunities to expand the story and plot line and to make it more fascinating (vamp high council, come on) and *SPOILER* to kill off Heath at the last second of the story as well as freaking crash out Zoey in the last paragraph...I mean I know she isn't dead but that was unnecessary.*END SPOLIER* The book started out way out of sync from the last book in my opinion as well, it was almost like I totally missed something, even though it started exactly where the last book left off. Then as it progressed, the book was mainly nothing more that Zoey arguing about her boyfriends, the same as the last book, and then doing one or two things here and there. I fell in love with this series from Marked and I really think this book is what killed it for me, I might re-read it and try again, or I might hang up my hat and not continue on with Zoey Redbird's boyfriend misadventures.

OKay. I tried...really tried to enjoy this book. However, I feel there is no progression in the characters. Zoey isn't growing for me! She is stuck in the same pattern of which guy do I choose: The Warrior who died yet didn't, the Vampire I screwed over after he turned, or the Human guy I keep imprinting with. Freaking decide already! Jeebs! Also, I hate how they took certian characters and destroyed them in my eyes. I am over it. I wont be continuing this series for the simple fact that I need the characters to progress...not just the plot.

This series surprised me. It is marketed to teens and written about teen vampires, but the books have a more mature theme and dialogue to them than most of the books of the teenage genre. Written in the first person, it does give a more clear idea of what is going on in the main character's head. There are a lot of creepy elements including dark magic, invoking evil spirits and blood rituals. Warning: the characters in this book are teenagers who are quite promiscuous (even includes teacher/student and child/adult sexual relationships). Good story, good writing, not a great idea for young teenagers or those that would be offended by the sex and dark magic issues.

this book was my least favorite of the series. Zoey didnt seem to accomplish much and it ended to abruptly. Most of it felt like filler and that they should have combined it with another book or something. The ending was way obvious. There was way to much drama about boyfriends, while it wasnt the worst book ive read it was far from my favorite. Im thinking about reading it again just to see if it wont be as bad the second time.

This book in the House of Night series is one of my favorites, aside from Hunted. It has everything in it: drama, romance, action, suspense... In one day, I read every chapter except the last one--only because i didnt want it to end. i waited until the next morning before i read the last part, and then i wanted to read the whole book all over again. i cant wait until Burned comes out. i have to say that i love house of night a hundred times more than i liked twilight. it has more drama, more romance...just MORE. (ive been a 100% STARK fan since day 1, and he just becomes more and more desirable throughout each and every book!) Anyone who loved the romance, the drama, and the excitement of the first 5 books will definitely love Tempted.
I didn't care for the format of this book. The switching of narrative and character by chapter was a bit annoying, in my opinion. I found that the concentration on Stevie Rae served only to make me really, really wish the Raven Mocker would kill her; I found her that annoying. I did, however, like how it ended and I look forward to getting the next book.
Great series! Tempted is the best book so far, it keeps you on the edge of the the next page through out the whole book and then ends with a huge cliff hanger. Now I am stuck waiting for book 7!
Just finished the book today...And I am so ready for Burned....The ending sucks and hurts but what do you do...In this book you feel a little more romance. (Which I needed cause the last one lacked).
Zoey has become powerful and she has no clue as to how powerful. There is no fear.
I did feel sorry for Kalona and ready to believe him. I still don't know if it is true...Remember Zoey is gifted....And chosen....
I did not like the way Erik Night just went away. He needs a better story ending..And wow....What to do about Stevie Rea...She is imprinting on everyone...
Enjoyed the read...Read for Burned....

I just finished the book yesterday and i was amazing it made my want to read the books even more. I like what happened at the end and is dying to see where the books go from here
Great book! Great series!!
Different writing style compared to the other books in the series. Kept up with Zoey's boyfriend issues(all of them), had limited action (too short to be informational), and the ever present cliff hanger ending. The story plodded on until the last chapter, exploded with suspense, and ended with an unsatisfying abruptness. I'm very impatient for the next book to come out although I'm curious as to where the story will go now.
Overall a good House of Night tale.
Overall a good House of Night tale.
This is definitely not a series for those who can't handle suspense and cliff-hangers and are willing to stop reading a series as a result because they like to have quick closure to a story. But it a reader is much more zen about a story unfolding, they will do just fine. I really liked that this book gave a more in-depth look into the various characters in the story and wouldn't call it a "filler" book because it definitely expands upon the story in a fulfilling way. Overall, it's another wonderful addition and is (so far) the best teen-oriented vampire series I've come across.
excellent book, waiting patiently for the movie
Was good, however it seemed to end rather abruptly.
I think this series is getting weak as it goes along, but it still held my interest.
All of the House of Night books are really good. The way the characters act and think can be immature, but I still enjoyed the plot line. I've read them all, and can't wait to until the next one comes out!
P.S. - The setting is in Oklahoma, which I thought was really cool.. since I'm from there and all.

The sixth installment of the HOUSE OF NIGHT series is here! Zoey Redbird and her circle of misfits are back and ready to kick some serious immortal, vampyre butt!!
Zoey and the circle have rid the House of Night of Neferet, Kalona, and his evil children, the Raven Mockers, but they have decimated their beloved home. The young fledglings are left to pick up the pieces that Neferet and Kalona left behind.
Zoey, Stevie Rae, and the rest of the gang use their affinities to help strengthen the kids who were hurt during the battle. Zoey also needs some help herself. She still has all sorts of guy problems (namely, Erik, Heath, and now Stark, who has sworn his Warrior's Oath to Zoey), and she is still coming to terms with the fact that she is the reincarnation of the ancient Cherokee woman, A-Ya.
Through all of this, Zoey manages to keep her cool, and decides that she must face Neferet and Kalona on their own turf. Zoey and the circle head to Italy to stand before the Vampyre High Council, and hopefully, stop Neferet and her evil plan once and for all.
Thank goodness for the HOUSE OF NIGHT series! I had missed the witty banter between Zoey and her friends!
Relationships and personalities are starting to shift in this sixth novel. The characters are growing and developing new traits, or losing them, depending on the situation.
The Cast ladies are still going strong, and have already unveiled the seventh title in the series, BURNED, due out in April of 2010.

This book ties together loose ends and makes a great deal of headway into better understanding the entire series. I am not crazy about how they leave you hanging but that is just one more good reason to swiftly seek out the next book in the series.
Great series
This book i think was really good, the ending was really sad, butit left me wanting more of the HON. I hate cliff hangers how about you. I really feel that this book connects alot of the things that didnt make sence before. And I cant wait until Burned comes out in April/May of 2010.
