Very erotic and a fun plot, although it got a bit stretched at times, but with the premise, it's gonna be a stretch! All in all, an enjoyable, HOT read - the sex only gets hotter as the story progresses, whewee! -- and I've put the others in the series on my Wish List. Loved it!

I really enjoyed the premise and I'm looking forward to reading more in the series. If you are a prude - this is not for you.

Tempting the Beast is definitely on my "I can give up a few hours of sleep tonight to finish this great page-turner" list. It is a favorite fast-paced, sensuous, romance filled with steamy sex, military bad guys, 'mad scientists manipulating genetics', government officials, high-power media moguls along with friends and families--both human and Breed. Lora Leigh shows her extraordinary skills in creating this multi-faceted world--that at first may seem medically far-fetched--until I considered that horses have been selectively bred since several centuries BC and today's geneticists also perform some mind-boggling experiments in the name of research. This book is just as fun to read the fifth time around--plus, I have picked up tons of plot clues introduced for themes developed in subsequent books--even 10 books later in the Series! You will continue to see the strong, courageous and insightful personalities of Callan and Merinus as they provide the back-bone for the Breeds' seemingly insurmountable future challenges in this ongoing series.

Most Excellent read! I have read nearly all of Lora Leigh's Breed series books, and thru out all of them have been Callon and Merinous on some level, so to finally read there story was a treat. Probably should have read it first, but then I haven't read any of the series in order so why start now. It certainly doesn't take anything away from any of the books as they are all great stand alone reads. Lora Leigh can almost always be counted on for a great, hot erotic read and good storyline. I have been disappointed in only one book in this series and there quite a few "Breed" books.

not crazy about some of the blunt and at times crude language in this series but i do like how the story moves along.

Callan is a genetic experiment. One of six fighting for freedom and the survival of their Pride. Merinus is the reporter who will tempt him, draw him, until the fury of the "mating frenzy" locks them into a battle of sexual heat there is no escape from. 1st in the series, this book is quite spicy hot. This is a great series.

I just love Lora Leigh and I was really glad to go back to the beginning of the breeds. Ive read so many that I was wanting to read the first. This book was really good and lived up to the expectations of her breed books.
Love the author and its a great series!
I loved this book, I read it within just a few hours, I could not put the book down..
An interesting book.
OMG! I could not put this book down, read it within 24 hours! HOT HOT HOT!!! I can't wait to read the rest of this series, I am so in love with this author and this series, I am ready to go buy the rest! You have to read this one!!!
Merinus and her 7 brothers [including Alpha brother Kane:] are on a mission. Merius has developed feelings that go beyond curious for a certain Callan Lyons. She goes out to get information and gets an eyeful, of him, in all his naked, hard glory.
Callan knew Merinus would be trouble but she was hard to resist. He could not help but let her see him and heard her nearly faint from watching him. All his life he'd been trained as a weapon. Then he broke out of the labs rescuing his Pride and wanted to stay away from prying eyes. Somehow Merinus worked her way under his skin.
Of course there are moments of give and take. Tempting the Beast is the debut in this voluminous series. I read 2 other Breed books before this one. It's nice seeing how all begins. Still there is only a glimpse because this is only Merinus and Callan's POV. Sometimes Kane and Sherra as they are set-up for their own story. I love how the mating heat is first described in TTB. It is like a cat in heat. They just want to have sex but Merinus tries to resisit. She doesn't know this man and doesn't love him. She hates the idea of him 'using her for a chemical release'. The background to Callan's history really reveals the kind of man he is. It is truly heartbreaking to see Merinus falling for him and Callan not wanting her to. Because he doesn't want the Council using her too.
What I love about this series, so far, is Lora Leigh has made each story just different enough to progress the Breeds and keep it entertaining. It's drenched in plenty of sex, which I don't mind because they are part animal. Even when Lora Leigh writes erotic romance I love watching how involved her characters become in the sex act and the romance. I think I could either like or love every book in this series. As long as Ms. Leigh continues to further the Breeds world and expand what is it they want out of their lives and mates.

Pretty spicy.
This book was not my cup of tea. I tried to read it far enough to get to one of the sex scenes, thinking surely that would hook me in, but I couldn't make it that far.
the beginning of the Breeds series.
man that was a great first book to this series! wow i think i should just buy the series cause i will be re-reading them!
I am not sure how I feel about this book, it took me a LOOOONG time to find a copy that I could afford, couldn't wait for my turn on the wish list!!! and then I got it and read it in a day... it was good, I thought there could be more story and a tad bit less sex..I like the erotic/romances, but I like more story!!! I will jump from this to book 6 as that is the only one I could find without buying another... hope I am not too confused!
Deception, blood and the evil genetics council are hot on their trail, Callan will use his strength to try and save them both and do all in his power to keep his woman in the process
after reading the newer books and then reading this one it was funny reading how the mating frenzy took hold and everyone have to learn hat was happening. Love the series cant wait to receive the next few in the series.
