This manga series, as a whole, was very disappointing. Part of the problem for me, was that it started after Episode 6 of the OVA instead of 13. The whole Zero/Ryoko arc never took place. Kind of.
The continuity of this series really isn't. It references different eps after 6 but doesn't have anything to do with them really.
I didn't find this series funny or moving. Unlike the OVA, or even Universe, I just found the characters to be shallow and the infighting stupid. Reminded me of the Tenchi in Tokyo more than anything else. And the fourth wall is broken SO many times that it ceases to be amusing. Finally, Sasami seems to have more booktime than Tenchi. Not cool.

I always hate when I get to the end of a Tenchi series, because I don't want it to end, neither the series iteself, nor the story getting wrapped up. Well, no need for worries (ugh, bad pun) as "No Need for Endings" lives up to its title.
