Helpful Score: 3
The author committed what I consider an unpardonable sin. He withholds what the viewpoint characters know in order to ratchet up the tension and mystery. In my view, that's a cheat. I won't be reading anything further by Mr. Meltzer.
Helpful Score: 1
I found this book so predictable just about anyone could have written it. I was very disappointed in the quality of this story.

Meltzer is always great
Excellent!
I enjoyed this book because it has several twists and turns not expected and a plot dealing with Supreme Court justices and human nature. I would give it 4 stars.
Better than Dead Even.
Suspenseful and twisty turney.
One of the better legal adventure stories out there, though the plot goes a little haywire at the end.
Quick and witty, good plot too. 5 friends, among the brightest in Washington. One of them accidently reveals the secret outcome of an upcoming supreme court decision. A blackmailer makes millions and thus the beginning of a roller coaster ride for the 5 friends.
Good face paced book read intwo days. If you are a fan of Meltzer this is a must read it does not disappoint.
This book is very slow at the beginning, and then becomes a story that you can't put down. Endure the first few chapters, for the remainder is full of surprising plot twists.
I had never read anything of this author before. He's good. I'll be looking for more grom him. If you like court-room mystery, you'll like this book.
This was great. I'm not much of a political thriller reader but the writing is so good and the young clerk point-of-view is so interesting that I was hooked. "Zero Game" by Meltzer is fantastic, too.
It took me a 151 pages to realize that I was not interested in this book. It just droned on and on but did nothing to capture you. Maybe the rest picked up but I decided that I had spent enough time on this read and it was over for me.
Book is OK but a little uneven.
Another of Meltzer's novels that is filled with intrigue.
Better than Grisham! Love the character development. Lots of red herrings. A great read.
A conscientious supreme court clerk, the professionals who share his house, a minor slip up . . . Ben Addison is a new clerk for one of the Supreme Court's most respected justices, but when he accidentally reveals the secret outcome of an upcoming decision, a blackmailer makes millions, and Ben's life and career is on the line. This book is fast paced, engrossing, well written, a perfect beach read, but thrilling with good dialogue and lots of surprises.
Where does loyaty end? Wre does greed begin? How much can tou trust your friends? A thriller for those who like a well ploted novel.
Blackmail,secrets and drama
Great political thriller.
Story of a clerk for a US Supreme Court Justice who is duped into revealing a court secret, then finds himself sucked deeper and deeper into conspiracy.
Good characters, interesting read.
Good characters, interesting read.
I loved the political and personal intrigue
NY Times best seller. Government intrigue
I really enjoyed this thriller. Just enough twists to make it enjoyable versus being predictable or implausible.
Lots of unexpected twists and turns make this story spiral to the very end. Keeps you guessing and turning pages!
Great Book. He is fast becoming one of my favorite authors.
When he accidentally reveals the secret outcome of an upcoming Supreme Court decision, a blackmailer makes millions and Ben Addison starts to sweat.
One of Metzger's better books.
Another Brad Meltzer thriller with some good twists and some ideas on the bonds of friendship and trust among 5 twentysomethings working in and around Washington.
I am a Brad Meltzer fan, but this was not one of his best. I found the main character, Ben, to be extremely annoying; his actions were more like a 12 year old rather than a Supreme Court Clerk. The storyline was pretty far-fetched and I was happy when the book ended.
I did not like this book because the dialog seemed very stilted and contrived. The main character, who is supposed to be the brightest of the bright, makes too many dumb mistakes to be believable.

This book was full of suspense. It was so great that I still remember it years after reading it! Wow!
