this novel is typically Jean Johnson. It starts out slowly and is very descriptive.. setting the stage so to speak..Then it grabs you and you can't wait for the next book in the series to come out..It alludes to her series Theres is Not To Reason Why because of the prophecies but you don't have to read the previous series as she points out in the prolog.
