The book starts off very good, but drags a bit in the middle. However, it quickly picks up the pace and really gets your attention. My book club picked this book for one of the monthly selections, and while I wouldn't have read it on my own, I'm glad I did. It gives a view of being raised with the Islam faith and how one's priorities and understandings can be so different from those of the mainstream.

Unexpected pleasure, as I don't generally like his writing; not an edge-of-your-seat thriller yet hard to put down, perhaps because it seemed so plausible.
My husband read this and was captivated by it.
A story for today when anyone we pass on the street could be the terrorist we all fear and dread. This tightly written novel explores what happens in a young man's life that drives him on that course. Fast moving, skillfully plotted - you'll enjoy this book from first page to the surprising end.
This novel provides thoughtful insight into the mindset of a young man recruited to commit an act of terrorism. I applaud the author's respect for, and understanding of, Islam.
He does as well as someone of our generation can do as far as getting into the mind of a young terrorist. But what do I know about terrorism, I'm a Kindergarten teacher.
