A Texan's Honor is the second book in Shelley's series The Heart of a Hero. I didn't enjoy this book as much as A Texan's Promise, thanks to all the killing (to be expected in a train robbery/kidnapping story) but it was a quick, engaging read. I hoped the best for Will and Jamie, as well as Scout Proffitt and Kitty. Life in post-Civil War America was very hard, but I think we often forget that these days. Shelley's writing helped me feel the swaying of the train and the bitter cold. Be sure to get this book if you enjoy historical romances with subtle faith messages.

I really liked this one about a brave Texas Ranger working undercover with the notorious Walker gang. He's been with them for two years, but now he can't stand by and let them harm a beautiful and innocent hostage on their latest daring crime. Such a good story! Highly recommended!
