When I got to the end of Texas Roads, I had to flip to the back cover to confirm that I had remembered correctly -- that this was indeed Cathy's debut novel -- and I was right. All I can say is, WOW! I am very impressed! Congrats to Cathy, for an excellent introduction into the Christian Fiction world. I can't wait to read the 2nd installment of your Miller Creek series!
It was refreshing to read something a little different from what I've been 'forced' to read lately (my own fault). The kind folks of Miller's Creek really touched my heart, and it was such a pleasure getting to know them -- especially Dani, Steve, Mama Beth, and Little Bo. Some folks -- not so much! ;)
Texas Roads has it all: teaching us how to forgive (even though it seems really hard to do at times!), a little mystery/suspense thrown in just to keep us on our toes, a few life-changing secrets, quite a few laughs, and last but not least, a heart-warming romance. *sigh* What more could you ask for?
If you haven't had a chance to read Cathy Bryant's debut novel, Texas Roads, be sure to pick up a copy as soon as you can. You're sure to fall in love as quickly as I did! To find out more about Cathy, and her book, visit her website, or her blog.

Texas Roads is about second chances, discovering fulfillment, finding a home and starting over. It deals with many issues that contemporary women and men encounterdeath of a loved one, adoption, friendships, and changing economic situations.
Texas Roads is the first in the Millers Creek series. Millers Creek is a wonderful little town, where everyone knows and cares about everyone elseand their business--which can sometimes cause unfounded rumors and conclusions based on very little fact.
One major question this story addresses: can a person, who has lived all her life in the city, be content in a small town? Major spiritual themes deal with guilt, forgiving oneself, trusting others, and trusting God.
If you like small town stories with a little bit of romance, some suspense and mystery, then I think you will like Texas Roads. Im looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I am always kind of scared to read a debut novel. To me, authors always get better after a few books and normally the first book is kind of plain and it often doesn't flow.
I was pleasantly surprised with this one:) The dialogue was great, the characters were very likeable and the book flowed!! I was very drawn into the book and liked it. I am also very picky on what I read as far as what is in them and the Gospel message. This one passed the test. I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars. The only thing I wish was not in the book was something in a relationship. I don't want to spoil it as this is one of the mysteries surrounding the young lady so I won't go into detail. And Cathy does a great job not going into detail! To me the book was a good read. Will definitely watch for the next one in the series:) Way to go Cathy!

This is a super sweet book that really touched my heart. Dani is a wandering soul who has lost everything. She goes to meet her Aunt and runs into the rudest man ever. Steve is not only the Mayor of Miller's Creek, he's also a great friend to Mama Beth. Whatever is a girl to do??
This was a definite page turner for me. I never knew what was coming next! A mixture of romance and mystery, this is a read to delight all! I'm ready for Book 2!
