I really enjoyed this book. It had me laughing and wondering more about these people. It also had me wondering if I would so the same as Andrew if I suddenly found myself in this situation.

A charming story by Dorothy Gilman that is not part of her Mrs. Polifax series. A young man goes to rural MA at the request of his father to check out an old property that he's inherited from an aunt.
The young man finds an interesting assortment of squatters living there including a beautiful young woman. A gentle, appealing tale.

Fantastic book!! I've read it several times and loved it every time!
A quaint, intriguing story. Novelist Andrew Thale goes to check out an old, deserted family property and finds it full of a wonderful mixture of tenants who have no where else to go - elegant Miss L'Hommediue, Gussie the witch, Leo the bibliophile, and beautiful, enigmatic Tarragon. The were all 'guests' of Thale's aunt and now that this aunt is dead they feel they have a right to stay on. Entranced, leery, Thale has to figure out what to do with them, and how to solve the mystery when one of them disappears.
Very enjoyable book in Gilman's best style.

A delightful, goofy book! Full of oddballs who find themselves together due to strange circumstances, this book reminds you of what the true definition of "family" is!
This is a great little story of a disenchanted young man sent to check out property for his father. He meets some wonderful characters on this property who end up helping him to believe in himself once more.
A stand-a-lone book from the usual Mrs. Pollifax series, but still t;ypical Dorothy Gilmore style. A book filled with wacky characters and fast action, but just as you foresee a happy ever after ending there's a where did that come from story twist!
