Michio Kaku delivered a lecture, "Physics of the Future", at the local university last night. My Old Man, a retired physicist, went to hear it, and now has instructed me to order a copy of Kaku's newest book, The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance, and Empower the Mind. (It boggles my mind that any physicist would actually undertake to complete Einstein's unified field theory, as Kaku has. Another mind-boggling thought is how this theoretical physicist's book is No. 1 on the NYTimes best seller list!)
I wonder if we 'lay' people can get anything out of this scientific tome? Or if it will be as stunning to the non-scientific mind as A Brief History of Time?
